Bad Hard Disk Drivers: Your hard disk has information on it called
“Drivers.” This information tells the Macintosh how to talk to or “drive” your particular hard disk. If this information becomes messed up it will cause problems. There was a program that came with your hard drive that is used to format it and the like. There will be an option that says
“update” or “update drivers.” Open the program and use this option. Do not select “Format” or “Initialize” and if the program warns you that you will lose data do not proceed. This step should not endanger your data, if you get a box warning you of this then you have selected the wrong thing.
